Anthony Biggers, who was legally blind from birth obtained his MFA from the U of M. He was Graphic Arts Professor at Southwest Community College and worked there untimely death in 2020. Anthony rarely showed his work to the public except for his many sketched that were donated to WEVL for their Blues on the Bluff Posters. Anthony was an amazing color pencil artist and he left behind a treasure-trove of work. Anthony was a big fan of the Delta and loved Blues music. Many of his works had a delat theme. His galley will be in the form of a retrospective.
Robby Johnston (Slim) is a self-taught artist from Memphis. He started painting in 2010. Since picking up the brush he's had multiple shows in and around Memphis. His work is inspired by trips through the Missisippii delta. He works with acrylics, mixed media and found objects. Robby recently sold a piece to the set of Queen Sugar on the Oprah Network and he will be hosting this event.
John Ruskey is a water colorist and renaissance man out of Clarksdale Mississippi-the heart of the Delta. He often paints in plein air while on excursions up and down the Mighty Mississippi with his Quapaw Canoe Company. John is also a Master dugout canoe builder and will be displaying canoes that were hand-carved. One of these boats was recently displayed in Walter Anderson's Museum in Ocean Springs.
