Planet LUMINARUS is an immerse, multimedia installation and performing arts space inspired by the mysteries of the cosmos. Our otherworldly project includes art education workshops for students, community build-days open to all, artist exhibition opportunities, public events, and more.

Get Involved

Calling all space cadets, ETs, and star seeds! OTWA is always looking for new recruits. Whether you want to create, collaborate, or volunteer, we have a space for you! Just a few ways you can get involved are:

Participate in a Community Build-Day

Every Saturday from 10—2, we’re in the shop constructing Phase 1 of LUMINARUS: The Cavern Wall. Carpentry experience is not required.

Volunteer at a Art Education Workshop

In partnership with local high schools, we are hosting sculpture and design workshops for students crafting the flora and fauna of our planet.

Take Part in a Group Show

Over the course of LUMINARUS, we will be putting out calls for 3D artists and performers (music & dance) seeking to show work in extraterrestrial-inspired exhibitions or events.

Support the Project

With a project of this astronomical scale, we can use all the help we can get building out Planet LUMINARUS. Some examples of materials/supplies we need in particular are:

  • 2 x 4 x 96” lumber

  • 3/4” plywood

  • chicken wire/metal mesh

  • plaster

  • burlap rolls

  • yarn, fabric, & fiber of all kinds

  • painting supplies (drop cloths, rollers, brushes, painter’s tape)

  • LED lights (strips, string, etc.)

  • Craft supplies (colored paper, crayons, pencils, markers, scissors, etc.)

  • Elmer’s glue — liquid and stick
